A California chain of retro drive-ins (that have a strong diner feel) that have actually been around for quite awhile. This one is located on Ventura Boulevard in Van Nuys. There is also one on the Sunset Strip in LA which used to be BEN FRANK'S, a restaurant famed as a late-nite eating spot of up and coming strip rockers such as Jim Morrison, The Byrds, and Guns and Roses. In fact, when they wer casting The Monkees, an ad was placed in the trades "looking for Ben Franks types." They had great food and I'm sorry to see them forced out by a greedy land-owner who wanted to sell out to a franchise. Also of note was the Mel's featured in "American Graffiti".
