LOU'S DINER

Back in the 40's, diner owners were frustrated by their male clientele being shipped off to fight in the war, so they tried anything they could to bring in new customers, including inviting them inside. Sometimes they would even park baby carriages by the front door to make it seem like the local ladies preferred the place. This also caused the birth of the diner booth, as skirted ladies were less likely to take a stool than a seat.
